A 45-year-old woman who was told she was ‘too old’ to fall pregnant has welcomed a ‘miracle’ baby boy – and she believes viagra was the key to her success.
Carin Rockind, now 48, from Pennsylvania in the US, had been trying to for a baby for five years after tying the knot with her husband, Josh Klur, 52.
The newlywed couple were devastated after Carin miscarried twice and were close to giving up on their dreams of starting a family.
In a last-ditch attempt, Carin and Josh decided to try IVF. Just one round cost them $40,000, for which they took out a loan and received a $10,000 gift from a friend.
Carin used a 26-year-old egg donor and retrieved 20 viable eggs, but the couple were only left with a single embryo – fertilised with Josh’s sperm – to implant.

It was then that Carin stumbled across a YouTube video, in which a woman claimed she had used Viagra – a drug made for men – to help grow the lining of her uterus.
The mother-of-one said she inserted the drug inside her vagina – and found she had fallen pregnant with her now two-year-old son Shay Rockind-Klur weeks later.
Carin and Josh welcomed Shay on July 2, 2020 at the Lankenau Medical Centre in Wynnewood.
The mother, who is a women’s empowerment coach, said she was ‘overjoyed’ to find she was pregnant after miscarrying twice – and being told she was ‘too old’ to have a baby.
‘I really wanted to be pregnant, I believed that my body could do it,’ she said. ‘I found one woman in Australia who stuck Viagra up her vagina and it helped her uterus lining grow.
‘I went to my doctor and asked for Viagra but he told me he had never seen it work.
‘I asked again and in three days my lining grew and we were ready to go – my miracle baby is a Viagra product. It felt like all of our hard work had paid off.’
Carin said Shay is a ‘miracle baby’, adding: ‘This kid wanted to be born. When you think about all the things that had to line up and all the things that went wrong, we are super blessed.’

Before giving birth to her son, Carin had miscarried twice.
She and Josh tied the knot in August 2014 and fell pregnant in April the following year. However, at the eight-week check-up, Carin received the devastating news she had miscarried.
After a year of trying to fall pregnant again, the couple visited a fertility doctor in 2017 and were told Carin was ‘too old’ to give birth.
The couple fell pregnant again shortly afterwards – and miscarried.
It was at this point that Carin and Josh decided to try IVF, but despite retrieving 20 eggs from a donor, they were only left with one embryo.
While they were preparing for the transfer, it became clear Carin’s uterus lining wasn’t growing and she was placed on medication to help.

She claims the medication didn’t work and after watching a video where a woman used Viagra to grow her uterus lining, she decided to try it herself.
After asking her skeptical doctor for Viagra, Carin’s uterus lining grew within three days and they were ready to start the process.
She claims it worked – resulting in her lining growing so they were able to do the transfer in November 2019. Carin found out she was pregnant on November 11, 2019.
She said: ‘We felt a sense of relief and we just screamed. We put all of our work down and went for coffee, it felt like all of our hard work, our money, our everything.
‘We didn’t let the fear in. We were just going to spend the whole nine months grateful and believing that this is meant to be.’

Carin said: ‘He was in the NICU for six days and now we are like “thank you God”. He is happy and healthy – he was a miracle baby.
‘We are super blessed, he is hilarious, he has been speaking full paragraphs since he was two. He is very imaginative – he is very funny and can be very mischievous.’
