Customers have taken to twitter to complain about the issues which mean that they can't carry out any online banking.
HSBC – which boasts 38million customers worldwide – has been replying to customers' complaints on Twitter.
In a statement on the social media site the bank said: "Some customers are experiencing problems using Online Banking.
"We are investigating and will provide further updates. If your query is urgent please can us on 03457 404404."
Some customers are reporting that they are having problems loading the website, while others say that they can't log on to their online banking.
One person that they can't log on to access either their personal or business bank account.
Another wrote: "Any ETA on when you will fix your website to allow online banking?"
A frustrated Thomas Buttery said: "Any tricks to get my online banking to work or do I need to call?"
According to downdetector.co.uk – a website that monitors customer complaints – 398 customers have complained about the service over the past hour, compared to zero at 8am this morning.
It's not the first time the bank has been hit with an online glitch.
Earlier this month customers found that they were locked out of their mobile banking due to an error with the app.
Users were met with a message that told them there was a "system error".
The Sun has contacted HSBC to find out when the glitch will be fixed.
They're not the only bank to suffer online glitches – earlier this summer we reported how hundreds of Lloyds and Halifax customers were unable to transfer money because the online services were down.
In a separate banking fail, one horrified woman was charged £36,000 for a £18,000 Mercedes after a Lloyds Banking glitch caused thousands of people to pay double.
Fed-up TSB customers were locked out of their accounts again following another IT upgrade.
