  • Delta flight attendant Dusty Dills came up with a plan to get her the document

A newlywed couple almost missed their honeymoon after the bride forgot her passport, but their flight attendant saved the day by fetching the document just in time for their international cruise.

Lawryn and Joe Fellwock were flying from Detroit, Michigan, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, after their intimate courthouse wedding when she realized that she didn’t have her passport.

‘If I was to blame it on anything, I was a girl who was getting married,’ she told Inside Edition. ‘I had a full cold sweat moment where I realized I left it in my closet at home, and I turned to Joe and I said, “I don’t have my passport. What do I do?”‘

Lawryn, 25, was ‘inconsolable on the flight,’ according to the airline’s press release.

Without the government document, she wouldn’t be allowed to board the Caribbean cruise, but they couldn’t figure out a way to get her passport in time.

The Fellwocks had just about given up hope when they explained their situation to Delta flight attendant Dusty Dills, who sprang into action.

With the help of fellow Delta employees Katy Yates and Karla Maisonet, he was able to come up with a plan to fly Lawryn’s passport to San Juan.

First, the couple had Joe’s sister-in-law Jackie Fellwock grab the passport from their home and bring it to Dusty at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, where he arrived on a return flight that night.

The next day, Dusty flew to Georgia and passed it off to Atlanta-based flight attendant Jeff Mendez, who delivered the passport to customer service agent Juan Arroyo at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico.

‘I picked it up at the desk and I said, “I know this might sound strange, but I think my passport was dropped off here,”‘ Lawryn told Inside Edition. ‘Their faces just lit up and they were so excited like, “You’re the passport girl.”‘

Lawryn was all smiles as she picked up her forgotten passport at the airport. With the government document in tow, they were able to board their cruise in the nick of time

‘We were so touched and grateful – a renewed faith in humanity was the best wedding gift,’ Lawryn said in a statement to the airline

‘The whole experience was surreal. Joe and I were desperate to find a way to save our honeymoon and right when we thought we were out of options, Dusty offers his personal time to help us out,’ Lawryn said in a statement.

‘We were so touched and grateful — a renewed faith in humanity was the best wedding gift. We owe our post-wedding bliss to Dusty and the Delta family!’

In a video shared by Delta, Dusty credited the teamwork at the airline for helping him save the couple’s honeymoon.

‘This was so larger than me,’ he said.
