It is finally that time of year to cozy up and watch all of the Netflix, which is good news since the streaming giant has lots of new releases for December.
Tiffany Haddish and Michelle Wolf will keep you laughing this month, as each comedian debuts a long-awaited standup special. For more of a chuckle, check out Fuller House: Season 5 to see what the family is up to without Lori Loughlin in the final season of the series. If you’re looking to watch any movies that may be awards contenders, check out Marriage Story, a drama starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver that’ll probably trigger all your emotions. At the end of the month get ready to watch You: Season 2, after the series went viral last year and made us all question whether we were, in fact, attracted to murderous stalker (played, of course, by Penn Badgley).
And with each new month, Netflix forces us to bid adieu to some other beloved titles. In December, cruelly, that will include Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown: Seasons 7-11. Classic like Christmas with the Kranks and Pulp Fiction will also be out at the end of month, so get your fix while they’re all still available to watch. Tiffany Haddish: Black Mitzvah
Tiffany Haddish is ready to celebrate and embrace her Jewish roots in her latest comedy special. Black Mitzvah covers the moments that have shaped Haddish’s life and career, as only she can tell them. The special will touch on the comedian's climb to fame, challenges along the way, and even the time she met Beyoncé. Available December 3.
Fuller House: Season 5
It’s officially the end of an era. Fuller House is releasing the first half of its fifth and final season and it’s hard to accept the fact that this family comedy is ending. This season, Jimmy (Adam Hagenbuch) and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) have a newborn and are getting acclimated to their new life. Luckily, they have a household of family on deck to help them with everything. You’ll have to wait until 2020 to watch the second half of the last season, which will conclude next year with the remaining episodes. Still, though, Lori Loughlin is otherwise occupied. Available December 6.
Marriage Story
Grab your tissues for this one because it looks like a tear-jerker. Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver star as a married couple going through an emotional divorce. Laura Dern also stars in the film as a sharp divorce lawyer, no doubt giving a performance that would make Renata Klein proud. Available December 6.
Michelle Wolf: Joke Show
If you’re looking for a comedy selection that focuses on social awareness, then check out Michelle Wolf’s special. The comedian’s performance explores women’s equality, woke culture, and gender differences. It’s sure to make you laugh and learn and maybe cry a little all at the same time. Available December 10.
Burlesque
Tired of listening to Christmas tunes all day long? Switch it up and watch Christina Aguilera’s amazing performance in this feel-good musical that features her strong vocals all throughout the film. Of course, you can’t miss Cher slaying and proving why she’s such a showstopper. Available December 16.
You: Season 2
The dark drama that took social media by storm is back with more eerie plot lines that’ll keep you glued to your couch until the final episode. This season, Joe (Penn Badgley) is keeping a low profile and hiding from his ex in LA while he attempts making a fresh start. You’ll have to tune in to see what drama ensues this time. Available December 26.
