Diane Kruger begs for her baby’s privacy after paparazzi photos circulate

Moms are naturally protective of their babies, but celebrity moms have one extra thing to shield their kids from — paparazzi.

Diane Kruger made a heartbreaking plea on Instagram for people to respect her newborn child’s privacy after unauthorized photos of her and her child were leaked online.

The 42-year-old actress uploaded one of the photos to her Instagram account — blurring her daughter’s face — and said that though she understands people’s curiosity in wanting to see what her child looks like, she wants her daughter to grow up in privacy.

“Dear fans, dear non fans, dear paparazzi and anyone with a conscience,” Kruger started her emotional open letter. “These pictures were taken without our consent and expose a vulnerable and innocent baby. While we understand that some people would like to see a picture of our daughter, we as parents, want nothing more than allow her to grow up in privacy and safety.”

Dear fans, dear non fans, dear paparazzi and anyone with a conscience. We were just tagged in these paparazzi pictures of me and our daughter. These pictures were taken without our consent and expose a vulnerable and innocent baby. While we understand that some people would like to see a picture of our daughter, we as parents, want nothing more than allow her to grow up in privacy and safety. Me and @bigbaldhead would kindly ask you to not repost these pictures and help us achieve that goal. Whoever has already posted them, please take them down. Please put yourself in our shoes. We are just like any parent wanting the very best for our child. Thank you for your support.

The “National Treasure” star asked that people put themselves in her shoes as a parent and kindly not exacerbate the issue by continuing to repost the paparazzi photos.

“Whoever has already posted them, please take them down,” wrote Kruger. “Please put yourself in our shoes. We are just like any parent wanting the very best for our child.”

Kruger welcomed her first child with actor Norman Reedus in November. The “Boondock Saints” star shared the first photos of their baby in December to his Instagram account, only showing the newborn’s tiny hands.

Kruger isn’t the only celebrity mom to want to keep her child’s identity private. Actresses Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry both testified in a hearing for a bill to protect kids from paparazzi.
