Animal lover shares astonishing transformation snapshots of stray dogs

Not feeling ruff anymore! Stray dogs found abused, matted and injured on the streets of Chile are unrecognisable after being rescued by an animal lover who just ‘wants to make a difference’

  • David Fernández, 26, has rescued more than 500 cats and dogs from Santiago
  • Dogs, who often have mange and matted fur, undergo months of rehabilitation
  • David shares astonishing before and after transformations to his social media

A kindhearted animal lover has shared astonishing before and after transformation snapshots of stray dogs he has rescued from the streets of Chile.

David Fernández, 26, has taken in more than 500 stray cats and dogs from the streets of Santiago as part of his mission to make a ‘real change’ and create a world without ‘angels suffering on the streets’.

The dogs, who often have matted fur and are critically malnourished, then undergo months of rehabilitation in David’s care before finally being fostered or re-homed.

One pup, Maple, was malnourished with both scabies and the flu when he was found abandoned in Isla de Maipo around six months ago. The pup has now been ‘reborn’ with a shiny coat and is free from illness and ‘fear’.

Here, FEMAIL has gathered some of the most shocking before and after transformations of the once neglected pups shared by David to his Instagram…
