As children shuffle to school (i.e roll out of bed to open their computer) for virtual learning, they’re exploring how to express themselves through a screen. It’s a good thing Disney Pixar rolled out new Disney-themed backgrounds, which is the latest effort by entertainment giants to keep students engaged on Zoom. These features came days after Sesame Street introduced that Elmo will be hosting what they call “virtual playdates” on Zoom. The best part? These fun customizable backgrounds that make you feel like you’re in a Pixar movie are free.
Your child can choose from an iconic Finding Nemo scene, a Cars racetrack, Andy from Toy Story’s room, ONWARD’s van “Guinevere,” The Incredibles “home office,” and even UP’s living room for their next friend-hang via Zoom. You can also use free DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls Zoom backgrounds courtesy of Classy Mommy.
Download these images to your computer or phone and watch your little one enter another world, which is probably where they want to be right now as they social distance from friends and loved ones. Simply go to Settings > Virtual Background and add your favorite option on Zoom.
If you’re looking for another unique background, you can create your own! A background image has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a minimum resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. Find an image that you like, resize it to the correct dimensions, and voilà! Your dream Zoom background will be set for conferences, classes, and chats with friends.
These free ABC coloring printables are another great idea to keep your kids entertained at home.
