Not having it! Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott‘s children were bullied by social media trolls in January 2019, and the 90210 alum slammed the body-shaming comments.
“It’s not easy,” the actress, 45, told Us Weekly exclusively at the Fox TCA All-Star Party on Wednesday, February 6. “I have dealt with it forever, but when they say things about your kids, you’re just like… ‘What?’ Everyone is so anti-bullying these days, but it feels like lately with celebrities, that doesn’t apply. You can say whatever you want about celebrities and their kids, their family, but you can’t say it anywhere else in any other profession.”
Spelling also admitted to Us that she finds negative social media comments to be a “waste of time” and left a message for body-shamers.
“Celebrities have feelings and then when you cross a line and you go after children … that is just wrong and shame on you,” she said that same day at Tapout Fitness Woodland Hills where her husband taught a Lunch Punch Workout class. “The thing that I hate too are these internet cowboys who have these made-up titles that they hide behind and … have private accounts.”
She added: “You want something, you have something to say, say it to my face, and tell me who you are. … Stop following me if you don’t like me.”
When the mother of five posted a photo on January 17 of her family attending the premiere of A Dog’s Way Home, Spelling’s followers came after her brood’s appearance. One user wrote that the little ones appeared to “feed and clothe themselves.”
McDermott, 52, clapped back on Instagram when their kids were criticized. “I am absolutely horrified and disgusted by the comments being left about my children,” he wrote beneath his wife’s photo Opens a New Window. . “Body shaming and bullying my children??!! What is wrong with you people??!! … Their [sic] kids. They’re messy and dirty. That’s what they do.”
