There’s about be yet another “Today” show baby!
Meteorologist and third hour co-host Dylan Dreyer announced to her colleagues Wednesday that she is expecting baby No. 2, a boy, after “an emotional journey.”
The 37-year-old mom revealed in April that she had suffered a miscarriage and was struggling with secondary infertility — a term used to describe the inability to become pregnant or carry a second baby to term after previously giving birth.
She and husband Brian Fichera share 2-year-old Calvin, but were having trouble conceiving again and were planning to try in vitro fertilization.
‘Don’t take anything. You’re pregnant!’
They didn’t need to try IVF, Dreyer shared through tears.
“The day I was going to start my IVF, I had all my medicines, I brought it down to the Kentucky Derby with me, and the doctor calls and says, ‘Don’t take anything. You’re pregnant!'”
She credited the prayers and sharing her story for getting her to this moment.
And how does soon-to-be big brother feel about it?
“Calvin is so excited!” Dreyer said, and shared an adorable video of the toddler looking at the sonograms and learning about the “five babies.” There’s just one, Dreyer corrected.
