Tia Mowry filed for divorce from Cory Hardrict in Oct. 2022, and the two are still working to finalize the split. One of the rules that has been set? A hard, six-month rule on introducing any future partners to their kids, Cree, 11, and Cairo, 5. The strict setup actually makes a lot of sense.
Documents obtained by PEOPLE explain the details of this arrangement.
“Absent agreement to the contrary, each party is restrained from introducing the minor children to a new romantic partner until that party has been in an exclusive relationship with the romantic partner for at least six months,” it read. It makes sense. They want to make sure their kids are protected from meeting people they aren’t serious about.
The documents continued, “Each party is further restrained from permitting his or her new romantic partner from spending overnights when the minor children are with that custodial parent during the first six months of the exclusive relationship. The parties agree that the restraints set forth in this paragraph are in the best interest of the children.”
This new proposal also included an agreement to uphold their previous agreement to share legal and physical custody of the kids.

Single Mom
In an interview with PEOPLE in Nov. 2022, the Sister, Sister star shared how she’s been navigating life as a single mom.
“I feel like, especially as a mom wearing so many different hats, I’m always in survival mode,” she told the outlet. “I’m always making sure everybody is okay, everybody’s alive, everybody’s healthy, everybody’s fed and making sure everybody’s fine, they have no holes in their socks, et cetera.”
“But for me,” Mowry added, “it’s about learning how to be aware and present with myself, and tapping in and making sure I too am taken care of. [Because] how can you take care of other people if your cup isn’t filled?” It’s so true.

Making Memories
Mowry has recently taken her kids to several movie premieres, including taking her daughter to see The Little Mermaid in May alongside sister Tamera Mowry-Housley and her daughter Ariah, 7, and taking her son to the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse premiere this month.
“It was so nice to be able to have this special time with Cree, where we could just hang out and go watch this amazing movie,” she wrote on Instagram later. “As my kids get older, I cherish these moments even more, and I want to continue to make more of these amazing memories with them. Plus, it is still so exciting to see them witness and relate to the diverse characters and perspectives with the representation that many of us did not have as children. I can’t wait to continue to make even more memories with them 💕.”
She recently shared several photos of her kids and family on Juneteenth, writing a little about what the day meant to her.
“Happy Juneteenth y’all! This Juneteenth, I am celebrating the resilience, strength, and creativity that are woven into the Black experience,” she said. “Every day, but especially today, we remember and honor the sacrifices that Black American people have made in this country, and reaffirm the solidarity that we build on every day. Additionally, I am reflecting on the importance of my family, community, and how their support and love continue to be the foundation of who I am.”

Black Fatherhood
The All American: Homecoming recently opened up about being a Black father and how his “kids are everything” to him.
“I want to show that there are Black fathers who make sure their kids are number one,” he told PEOPLE this month. “It’s great to highlight that in fatherhood overall, but in Black fatherhood especially, because being a Black father in this world isn’t easy.”
“I operate from a place of love and passion with my kids,” he continued. “But at the same time, I want them to be successful and positioned to achieve and be great leaders in the world. And know everything is real from their father, it’s a love that prepares them for the real world, which can be a challenge when it comes across tougher.”
He added, “But you know they will appreciate their father as they grow older and see what their dad was doing what was best for them.”
These two have such tight bonds with their kids, it’s no surprise they don’t want to introduce anyone else into their kids’ lives unless its really serious.
