Everything Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Have Said About Their Son Archie

“What I need is a few mini rugby balls that I can then get Archie involved with the game because at the moment, it’s impossible to find any,” the former military pilot, 35, said of his and Meghan Markle’s 15-month-old son on Saturday, August 29, during a video chat honoring the Rugby Football League’s 125th birthday. “But I’ve got a little space outside, which I’m fortunate enough to have so I need to get him playing some Rugby League.”

Harry went on to say that he felt “just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see [his son] be able to be outside” in his new Santa Barbara home, noting, “I know so many people just haven’t had that opportunity in the last five months.”

Inside Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Parenting Style Raising Son Archie

Princess Diana‘s son sweetly called his and the Suits alum’s toddler their “No. 1 priority.”

He and the former actress welcomed their baby boy in May 2019, one year after their nuptials.

In January, the couple announced their decision to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family. “We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages,” they captioned a statement at the time. “This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter.”

Their family of three went on to live in Canada, then Tyler Perry’s Los Angeles mansion before settling in Montecito, California, in June.

“Meghan’s taking time off to update some of the rooms to suit their style, including their and Archie’s bedrooms, the main living area, the kitchen and the gym,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly of Harry and Markle’s new home earlier this month. “The outdoor play area will be decked out with swings and slides, a climbing frame and a tea area for Archie and his new little pals. Meghan’s counting the days until Archie can start interacting with children his own age.”
