Prince Louis & Princess Charlotte Went Head-To-Head During the Family’s Latest Public Appearance

It is in the Sibling Code of Conduct that siblings must consistently butt heads. It’s something all brothers and sisters silently agree to from day one. Because arguing over toys and riding shotgun and the last slice of pizza is the spice of sibling life. The siblings of the royal family probably have designated seats in the royal carriage, and they probably don’t eat ‘za at diplomatic dinners, and they definitely have every toy in triplicate. And yet, we have no doubt they bicker with the best of us.

This weekend, at the Trooping of Colour, the siblings put their literal headbutting on full display. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — the third and fourth in line to the throne — accidentally bonked heads. In a video posted on Instagram, Princess Charlotte leans toward Prince Louis who then hits her in the head with his own noggin when he turns around to talk to his mom Kate Middleton. Princess Charlotte looks at her brother, annoyed — probably with her signature side eye — before rubbing the right side of her head.

“Little accident on stage 😂😂,” the post was captioned, “love how Charlotte paused then realized that it actually did hurt 😂😂😂.”

It’s usually Prince Louis who leans into his sister to tell her something, so we’re extra curious about what Princess Charlotte wanted to tell him that eventually led to the clash of craniums.

When he wasn’t bumping into his sister, Prince Louis was delivering the hilarious facial expressions and hand gestures we’ve come to know and love. Just like at the coronation of King Charles III, Prince Louis proved that he is not impressed with royal events and that he certainly is the wild card of the family.

It’s not surprising that Princess Charlotte didn’t cause a scene after getting an accidental bonk that had to hurt more than she let on. After all, she has reportedly become her mom’s right hand, keeping the peace between the siblings and teaching them proper etiquette.

Body language expert Judi James said the young princess helps make sure the boys behave and act appropriately during big royal events.

“Charlotte once told Louis to sit up while Kate leaned forward to straighten his tie,” James said. “It’s very sweet to see how he responds quickly to orders from his sister. The minute Charlotte told him to sit up in his seat he pulled up straight away with no murmur of dissent or argument.”

While Prince Louis was out of sync with Princess Charlotte, he was on the same wavelength as his big brother Prince George. They were seen here donning the same facial expression, and it’s far from the first time the royals looked exactly alike. Prince George is a mini version of his dad Prince William, and Princess Charlotte is the spitting image of her great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
