Let’s just cut to the chase: Serena Williams is pregnant with baby number two, and we are freaking out! The Olympic gold medalist announced that she and husband Alexis Ohanian are going to be a family of four right before heading to the Met Gala where she proudly showed off her growing baby bump. Yup! Williams surprised fans worldwide when she posted a carousel with photos of her and Ohanian on Instagram with the caption, “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.”
At first, we thought, “The 3 of us?! Their 5-year-old daughter Olympia is there?!” That is until we got to the photo where Williams hugs her baby bump that looks exceptionally gorgeous in her Gucci dress.
Ohanian then shared a photo of him and his wife to reiterate the exciting news. “Mama (@serenawilliams) & Papa love this parenting-thing, so we’re back at it 😁 and @olympiaohanian is gonna be the best Big Sister—she’s been asking & praying for this for a minute,” the co-founder of Reddit captioned the post.
Williams’ Instagram bio is currently “I’m Olympia’s mom,” and we can’t wait for her to add baby number two’s name (which is currently under wraps) on there. And of course, we’re not the only ones.

The Importance Of Black Maternal Health
For Black Maternal Health Week in April, Williams’ shared the devastating realities and often fatal outcomes pregnant black women face.
“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Black women in the United States are over three times more likely to die from pregnancy or childbirth-related causes,” she wrote on Instagram. “But this is not just a challenge in the United States. Around the world, thousands of women struggle to give birth in the poorest countries. Every mother, everywhere, regardless of race or background deserves to have a healthy pregnancy and birth.”
She also reshared her story of the trauma she faced when giving birth to Olympia.
