Pregnant Carrie Underwood Is Still Considering Adoption

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher already have a second child on the way, but that is not stopping the pregnant country superstar from fantasizing about expanding their family even more.

“Carrie does still talk about adopting children because she truly does want a large family and wants to be a mom to several kids,” a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.

Underwood, 35, announced in a lengthy Instagram video on Wednesday, August 8, that she is expecting another little bundle of joy with the former Nashville Predators player, 38. The couple — who wed at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee in Georgia in July 2010 — already share 3-year-old son Isaiah.

“Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond,” she gushed in the video. “This has just been a dream come true. … We’re just so excited and so glad you guys can share this with us and be a part of it.”

The American Idol season 4 winner has dreamed of giving Isaiah a little brother or sister for a while now. “She has been wanting [another] baby forever and is so filled with joy,” the source tells Us.

Underwood has spoken candidly in the past about the possibility of adopting another little one. “I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family. We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older,” she told Redbook in an interview published just days before her second pregnancy announcement. “In the meantime, we’re lucky to be a part of organizations that help kids, because our focus right now in our lives is helping as many kids as possible.”
