It’s official! Amy King (née Duggar) and her husband, Dillon King, are adding a baby boy to their family.
The mom-to-be, 32, revealed the gender of the couple’s first child in a sweet Instagram post on Saturday, June 1. “B?Y!!!!,” she captioned a photo that showed her and Dillon kneeling on a bed kissing with blue feathers fluttering around the room.
Dillon also shared the same photo writing: “We are so excited to announce that we are having a BOY!”
This isn’t the first time the couple has used props to share big news. Amy announced she was pregnant in an Instagram post in April that showed the twosome — who wed in September 2015 — holding gold balloons that spelled out, “BABY.”
“BABY KING IS ON THE WAY!!!” the Arkansas native wrote alongside the photo. “Happy Easter from our growing family to yours!!”
Her hubby shared a similar sentiment: “We are completely speechless, overly excited and ready for the next chapter as new parents!”
Though the pair’s marital problems played out on season 7 of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars in 2016, they have been open about their relationship being in a healthier place now, even sharing their hope to have children during an interview with Us Weekly in December 2018.
“We’re practicing. We’re not preventing,” Dillon explained to Us at the time.
Amy gushed: “We’re ready to be parents. We’re ready whenever it happens.”
The niece of 19 Kids and Counting stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar also opened up to Us about the kind of parents she imagines they’ll be. “For me, I just want to be a hands-on kind of mom. He’ll be a hands-on kind of dad,” Amy said. “We want to be involved in our kids’ lives no matter what they do. And they’re going to be our little best friends. They don’t know it yet, but they will.”
