Word to the wise: Don’t mess with Pink — especially when it comes to anything related to her parenting style. The singer, who is currently on a world tour, had strong words for a fan who criticized Pink’s Instagram post of a family dinner. The sweet image depicted the “Walk Me Home” singer eating dinner with husband Carey Hart and the couple’s two children, Willow Sage and Jameson Moon.
“At least twice a week on tour, we shut the door to the outside world and have family dinner. As you can see, it makes Jameson feel deep, deep joy,” Pink captioned the photo, jokingly referencing her son’s playful mugging for the camera.
One would think that emphasizing the importance of carving out family time regardless of how hectic our schedules are wouldn’t be controversial. But Pink has been mom-shamed for ridiculous reasons on more than one occasion (in another dinner-related incident, trolls criticized the singer for cooking with her kids at home) and this sadly proved to be no exception.
“Except it’s posted on ig,” an Instagram user commented. Um, what? Pink isn’t allowed ONE Instagram post, because it might take her away — for about five seconds — from the family dinner she’s posting about?
Pink isn’t one to let mom-shaming slide, whether it’s about a dinner or drinking coffee during her pregnancy.
“[Y]es I like to promote healthy stuff. I also like to remind people to stop being TOTAL DOUCHE BAGS TOO,” the singer responded. Makes sense, right? Well, her response apparently didn’t satisfy the parenting police, who wrote: “And well damn, I was coming to see ya Sunday night in Nashville…”
It’s unclear if this person is seriously considering skipping Pink’s concert because of a family dinner photo — but, if so, we can definitely file that under “Strangest Reasons To Boycott An Event.”
