On the Move! Watch Prince Louis Show Off His Walking Skills

Growing up fast! Prince Louis celebrated his first birthday last month and proved that he’s already mastered one major milestone — walking.

The little one showed off his fancy footwork on Sunday, May 19, while visiting the garden that his mom, Duchess Kate, designed at the Chelsea Flower Show. He and his older siblings, Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 4, explored with the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, and their dad, Prince William.

Not only did Louis walk straight toward the camera with shaky steps in the ITV News video of the family fun, while sporting red shorts and a blue sweater, but he also rode a rope swing with his dad’s help and carried around a stick.

“In recent years I have focused much of my work on the early years, and how instrumental they are for outcomes later in life,” Kate said of her garden in a Saturday, May 18, statement. “I believe that spending time outdoors when we are young can play a role in laying the foundations for children to become happy, healthy adults.”

Kensington Palace added: “The garden forms part of Her Royal Highness’s ongoing work on early childhood development and her mission to support efforts that give every child the best possible start in life. The Duchess has committed to making early childhood development the focus of her work in the years to come, and believes that providing children with the opportunity to spend time outdoors can play an important role.”

Queen Elizabeth II visited the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, May 20, and the duchess led her on a tour of the garden.

Kate and her husband, 36, welcomed Louis in April 2018. Last month, they released a trio of new portraits of their baby boy to celebrate his first birthday.
