All the feels! Social media was flooded with sweet tributes to dads of all kinds on Sunday, June 16, in honor of Father’s Day — and celebrities were quick to pen heartfelt posts to the main men in their lives.
Whether first-time dads like Andy Cohen, or proud papas of multiple children like Kanye West and Norman Reedus, it was truly a day of reflection for famous families.
“They say good things come to those who wait..I’m so glad I did ♥️ We love you Papa ♥️ Happy (19th!) Father’s Day @bigbaldhead,” Diane Kruger, who welcomed her first child with Reedus in November 2018, gushed alongside a pic of the Walking Dead star holding their daughter. (Reedus is also dad to teenage son Mingus whom he shares with ex Helena Christensen.)
Ian Somerhalder, who shares 23-month-old daughter Bodhi with wife Nikki Reed, took to Instagram to explain what the day means to him.
“Being a father… It’s the greatest gift life can give you and greatest thing I’ve ever done. I’m so thankful to be on this journey and so thankful for you my love, @nikkireed for making me a proud papa. Kid, you love your family, music, nature, all animal and airplanes… This is a great start and I can’t wait to explore this earth and all it’s wonders with you,” the Vampire Diaries alum captioned a series of photos. “Happy Father’s guys- I hope you feel blessed each day to get out of bed to lay track for their futures. All parents are rockstars (Moms are beyond rockstars and the backbones of society) and may we put our best foot forward and nurture their little brains, souls and hearts.”
Somerhalder added: “By raising healthy, intelligent, compassionate, reverent and grateful little ones we will build the greatest generations that the world has ever seen. Good luck and thank you. Happy Father’s Day.”
