Mum targeted by vile trolls telling her to edit out ‘disgusting’ stretch marks

It’s completely natural to have stretch marks on your tummy after giving birth – it’s a sign of motherhood that’s beautiful and should be celebrated.

Sadly, not everyone thinks so.

Sharny Kieser received nasty comments on social media after posting photos where her stretch marks are on display.

The mum-of-six, 39, posted a snap of herself in a crop top and shorts – and received vile backlash from trolls.

Sharny regularly posts photos of herself in workout gear on her Facebook page Sharny and Julius – a community devoted to helping mums get fit after having a baby.

While plenty of people praised Sharny for showing the realities of the ‘mum tum’ and how your body changes after pregnancy, she also received some unpleasant comments too.

On Instagram, her husband Julius said: "Last week, I posted a photo of Sharny with her tummy out and a young girl said ‘at least Photoshop the disgusting stretch marks out.’"

His defence of his wife’s mum tum is one of the sweetest things ever.

He wrote that he believes it symbolises the "strength of a mother" who brought six kids into the world.

"I believe that a body of a confident WOMAN (like this) is far more beautiful and sexy than the body of an insecure GIRL (what you normally see on social media)".

He continued his emotional post: "Not shallow like we normally say, but shallow in life, not yet interesting. But they will be, that’s a given"

"And I hope that when they DO earn their depth of character and maybe scars/stretch marks, they KNOW that they are not ugly or used, but beautiful and important and courageous.

"They are mums," he concluded.

"How do I get rid of my disgusting loose skin?" Every single day we get asked this. Every day. Here's the answer: You can surgically tighten your tummy skin, just like you can surgically increase or decrease your boobs. What I'm more concerned with is the word "disgusting." Please don't say that. When your daughter has given you grandkids, are you going to tell her that her stomach is disgusting? Of course not, so don't say it to yourself. Whatever you SAY about yourself, your kids will BELIEVE about themselves forever. So what would you say to your daughter? "That tummy was the first home for your baby. It carried them, protected them, kept them warm, comforted them and fed them. The skin on the outside stretched. Just like EVERY OTHER MOTHER ON EARTH. Some go back to how they looked before, but most stay loose." Your stomach is not disgusting, neither is it weird or different. YOU are not weird or different. You are a mum. flat tummy, stretched tummy, loose skin, tight skin, stretch marks, tattoos, piercings, surgically tightened skin, C-section scars. It doesn't matter what your tummy looks like, it's FUCKING AMAZING! Every single person's first home was a mummy tummy. Our future is 100% dependent on a mummy tummy. That's a HUGE deal! This should surely be the most celebrated part of a human body. Not tits, ass or balls, it should be the mummy tummy. Women on Facebook also defended Sharny who said she looks "beautiful" and should ignore vile trolls trying to shame her.

One woman wrote: "I feel empowered when I see REAL bodies with lovely mummy tummies. That’s the way it should be !!!

"We should be learning to love and take care of our bodies instead of retouching with photoshop or what’s even worse, with a surgical process. This is normal, this is real and it is beautiful".

Other people spoke of what an "inspiration" they find Sharny for showing the realities of motherhood and her fitness journey.
