Miranda Kerr’s relationship with ex Orlando Bloom should be the new standard for successful co-parenting. Since their split in Oct. 2013, the two have been working together to raise son Flynn, 12, and now they are so close, they have a unique blended family tradition that sounds unbelievable.

An ‘Incredible’ Blended Family
The Australian model opened up about her “incredible” blended family in a new interview with Access Hollywood. She is mom to Flynn with Bloom, as well as sons Hart, 5, Myles, 3, and a baby boy on-the-way with husband Evan Spiegel, while Bloom is also dad to daughter Daisy Dove, 3, with Katy Perry.
“Well, when Orlando and I separated, we just said, ‘Listen, at the end of the day, the most important thing is that Flynn’s needs come first, not ours,’” Kerr told the outlet. “So whatever we do, ‘is this in the best interest of Flynn?’ and that’s kind of how we’ve navigated it.”
Smart, right? But then the exes went one step further and actually go on vacations together!
“It’s incredible because, you know, now with Evan as my partner for the last nine years, and now we have our family, and Katie and Orlando have Daisy, it’s like we’re a blended family!” she continued, adding, “And we go on family vacations together, we enjoy each other’s company, it’s great!”
Family vacations are stressful enough but inviting your ex-husband and his new family to go with you?! That sounds like a recipe for disaster. And it might be, if not for the dedicated co-parenting relationship Kerr and Bloom have cultivated with each other and their new families for the sake of their shared son Flynn. I’m telling you — these two need to be in a guide book for how to blend your family!

The Boys Are Excited for a Baby Brother
Kerr is currently pregnant with baby number four. In the interview, she shared that her three boys are “so excited” to have another little brother.
“They’re so excited. They love it,” she told Access. “They’re just like a little team together. They love each other. They all play together. I get teary thinking about it, but that could be the hormones.” How sweet is that? They get along just as well as their bigger extended family does.

Miranda Kerr Says She ‘Loves’ Katy Perry
In the Moments With Candace Parker podcast, Kerr revealed what she really thinks of Perry.
“I saw how she was with Flynn. She was very playful with Flynn. She was not trying to be his mum,” noted the Kora Organics founder “She was just being friendly and kind, and that’s all you can ask for.” She added, “We go on holidays together, we celebrate all the important milestones together. I love her. I mean, it’d be safe to say that I love her more than Flynn’s dad.”
The “Teenage Dream” singer and Kerr had an Instagram Live chat in 2021, where Perry gushed about motherhood.
“There was no feeling like the feeling when I had my daughter,” Perry told Kerr. “That was like all the love that I was ever searching for. It was like bam.”
“Your art is validated by the outside world and that fluctuates. Sometimes you are beloved and then sometimes people are like, ‘No, I don’t like that, moving on,’” Perry went on. “The love from your children is constant and unconditional and isn’t based on what you have, what you don’t have, what career… So that’s definitely made me feel so full, to know that there’s this unwavering, unconditional love.”
