Toddlers are not exactly known for chilling out on airplanes. They want to kick the seat in front of them, or cruise around the aisles — always when the seatbelt sign is turned on. So it should come as no surprise that Lauren Conrad is no rush to hop on a flight with her 15-month-old son, Liam.
“We haven’t done in a trip in a bit. I traveled with him when he was really small,” Conrad told Us Weekly the The Little Market Preview in Palisade, California, on Saturday, September 21. “But he’s in the the stage right now when an airplane does not sound like . . .” Though the 32-year-old’s didn’t complete her sentence, it was clear what she meant!
While Liam is at tricky stage as far as flying goes, the Hills alum wants time to slow down. “He’s not a baby anymore,” she told Us. “It’s kind of sad.”
Conrad shares her little boy with husband of five years William Tell. (The couple just celebrated their wedding anniversary on September 13!) The former reality star to Us they will “probably” have more kids but “not right now.” Instead, Conrad is focusing on Liam and her fashion empire, which includes a collection at Kohl’s.
As a working mother, Conrad knows she won’t be able to make every school function. And while that can be hard, she hopes she is setting a good example. “It’s about finding the balance,” she told Us. “You don’t want to miss anything, but at the same time, you want to teach them to work hard.”
At the moment, Conrad and pal Hannah Skvarla are working hard on The Little Market. The friends, who cofounded the online fair trade shop in 2013, just opened their first brick-and-mortar shop. Conrad could not be more proud of the venture, which sells handmade goods made by artisans in third-world countries.
