Sure, Kim Kardashian’s kids live in a $60 million mansion and wear couture. But in a lot of ways they are just like any other children. Case in point: 5-year-old daughter North is obsessed with watching YouTube videos.
“She watches girls do pranks,” Kardashian, 37, told Access Hollywood at the Beautycon Festival in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 15. Her favorite stunts involve Halloween, but it doesn’t appear North will be launching her own YouTube channel anytime soon.
“We tried to shoot a video yesterday,” the KKW beauty founder revealed. “But she wasn’t into actually filming it yesterday. She was, like, camera shy. So didn’t push. She just wanted to make . . . weird cakes and ingredients with spiders all over it.”
Back in November, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star gushed about North’s fascination with makeup. “My daughter watches so many YouTube tutorials and videos and she was unboxing the My Little Pony Colourpop collection and I thought to myself, ‘I wish I was recording this’ because her reaction was so funny,” Kardashian told WWD. “And then she did makeup on the My Little Pony that they gave and she said, ‘Mom I want to do a YouTube video.”
Though dad Kanye West said “No,” he did allow her to shoot a few clips for the family’s eyes only.
“It’s always a struggle on how much you want to have exposed or how much access you want them to have to social media,” Kardashian explained to the paper. But when North is old enough she will be all over Instagram and Snapchat. “In the world we live in today, I don’t think you ask someone young growing up to not be on social media,” said Kardashian. “That’s just cruel. That’s like asking [someone] not to communicate.”
Kardashian and West are also parents of Saint, 2, and daughter Chicago, 6 months.
