Hang in there, guys! Keri Russell commiserated with new parents Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons at the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards Governor’s Ball on Monday, September 17.
“It’s hard,” Russell was overheard telling the mom and dad of 4-month-old baby boy Ennis. “Especially at first.”
Russell knows a thing or two about infants. The Americans actress, 42, and costar Matthew Rhys share 2-year-old son Sam. She is also mother of River, 11, and Willa, 6, with ex-husband Shane Deary.
Us Weekly exclusively revealed in December 2017 that 36-year-old Dunst and her fiancé, 30, were expecting their first child. She confirmed the news one month later on Instagram with a photo of her baby bump.
Monday night marked the couple’s first public appearance since welcoming Ennis on May 11. Dunst, who wowed in a plunging Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, lovingly held hands with Plemons on the red carpet. Later, the pair couldn’t find their seats and were filmed squatting awkwardly in the aisle during Alex Borstein’s win. (Plemons was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his role on Black Mirror.)
Meanwhile, it was a big night for Russell and Rhys. The 43-year-old won for Lead Actor in a Drama Series. During his acceptance speech he gushed, “I don’t have the words, or the time, neither which would do you justice, Keri Lynn, except thank you. More to come. Thank you.”
Rhys and Russell, who played a married couple on the FX hit The Americans, began dating in 2013. Similarly, Dunst and Plemons struck up a romantic relationship in 2016 after portraying a husband and wife on the network’s Fargo.
