Joanna Gaines’ daughter Emmie Kay is her carbon copy. The Fixer Upper star recently shared a photo of her newborn Crew enjoying “Snuggle Time.” At first glance, it appears Gaines, 40, is holding the newborn. But a closer look reveals that it’s actually 8-year-old Emmie Kay.
“I thought this was you! Never realize how much you and Emmie look alike!” one person wrote in the comments. Marveled another: “I thought this was you!!! Emmie is your twin!”

And the comments kept pouring in from fans who saw the picture and assumed it was the HGTV personality.
Meanwhile, Emmie Kay doesn’t just resemble her mama. She’s inherited her entrepreneurial spirit — and green thumb. Last month, Gaines revealed that the little girl is selling fresh floral arrangements this summer. And she is frequently seen on social media tending to her plants.
The Magnolia Table cookbook author and her husband, Chip Gaines, have their hands full with five kids including Drake, 13, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, Emmie Kay and 4-week-old Crew. But life is good. The kids are so enamored with the family’s newest addition that they take turns snuggling him!
Joanna opened up about Crew’s birth in a June 23 Instagram post. “Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here and we couldn’t be more in love,” she wrote. “He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early — which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful.”
