Being a parent isn’t an easy feat — even when you’re not with yuour child. Jeffrey Dean Morgan spoke candidly to Us Weekly about being away from his 7-month-old daughter and revealed how wife Hilarie Burton keeps him in the loop.

“Well my family isn’t with me,” the Walking Dead star, 52, told Us at the season 9 premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 27, when asked how he functions on the job with a little one. “My oldest son is in school so my family is in New York. The couple — who also share 8-year-old son Augustus. — welcomed their second child together in May. Morgan announced the arrival of their daughter in a sweet Twitter post at the time.

Days later, Burton took to Instagram with a series of pictures to reveal the baby’s name. “Please meet George Virginia Morgan,” she wrote. “She was born February 16th. Her daddy delivered her. We love her very much.”

The Washington native added that he thinks “she’s seen a couple [episodes,]” but she “usually goes to bed before the show airs.”
