Holy Sh*t, You Can Now Build Your Own Mac and Cheese at Panera Bread
Panera Bread knows you’re obsessed with its mac and cheese, which is why the restaurant chain was inspired to introduce a brand-new (and, might I add, life-changing) experience to customers: a build-your-own mac and cheese option. “As we look to the future, we’re focused on giving individual guests the meal that is exactly right for them,” Panera’s CEO said about the change. “So we’re constantly working on new ways to customize even our iconic favorites, like mac and cheese. We’re doubling down on one of our most popular categories to offer even more options for people to eat what they want, precisely how they want it.”
According to a press release, customers who place orders online via the Panera app now have the option of customizing their mac and cheese by adding up to five toppings, which include fresh avocado, bacon, barbecue sauce, cilantro, and even smoked pulled chicken. The restaurant has also added three new, special variations of mac and cheese to the menu: Baja, BBQ Chicken, and Bacon. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to start a petition for all of this to be on the menu at the next office gathering.
