Crystal clear! Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma got engaged last month, but the DJ knows where he stands when it comes to his fiancée’s family.
“I think having a baby definitely brought us even closer together and we feel happier and more in love than ever and so [the engagement] felt right,” the Younger star, 31, told Us Weekly exclusively at Comedy Central, Paramount Network and TV Land’s L.A. Press Day last week. “We are looking forward to our long future together. He kind of surprised me and I was like, ‘Yes! Of course! You’re my favorite person in the whole entire world outside of my kids.’”
Duff added with a giggle: “He knows he comes third.”
She and the “Hard to Love” singer, 32, welcomed their daughter, Banks, in October 2018. The Lizzie McGuire alum already shares Luca, 7, with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie.

The actress opened up to Us about her baby’s milestones. “She knows what she wants and she gets it,” Duff said. “Like the first time she crawled, Luca was in the door and she saw him in the door frame and … she just wanted to get to him! That’s how she figured out how to put one arm in front of the other and I’m just like, ‘You are an animal. You are a go-getter.’”
The “So Yesterday” singer, who is enjoying dressing up her “paper doll,” started dating Koma in late 2016. After breaking up in March 2017, the couple reconciled in the fall.
“I think [if] you have history and a past with someone and love — and just because it doesn’t work out the first time, the second time, as long as there’s not too much damage done — then, it can always work out again,” Duff explained on The Talk at the time.
Season 6 of Younger premieres on June 12 on TV Land at 10 p.m. E.T.
