No matter how many times we progressive parents say we’re going to raise our kids without preconceived notions of gender roles, skipping all that pink princess gear for our little girls, there’s one thing we can’t deny: Babies look so ridiculously cute in flowers and ruffles. Exhibit A: Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Kaavia James, bouncing about in a gorgeous floral romper.
In an Instagram video posted to Kaavia’s Instagram account, the 1-year-old appears to be listening to an Airpod and grooving to The Jeffersons theme song, “Movin’ on Up.” That’s what’s playing for viewers, anyway, and her thrilled expression is making us love the song all over again.
“Now we up in the big leagues,” reads the caption, quoting the song by Ja’net DuBois. “I love this song! Everybody now!”
Side note: I will forever wonder whether this caption was written by Union, Wade, or another anonymous social media manager — because if Kaavia has her own social media manager, I would not be surprised. She is already a model, fashion muse, athlete and influencer, after all.
But you’re not here for soundtrack notes and celebrity staffing contemplation. You’re here for Kaavia’s onesie. It’s the Zoey Floral Ruffled Romper from Posh Peanut, made of viscose derived from bamboo. What you can’t see in this picture is that it also features some deadly cute ruffles on the bottom. This print is also available in a skirt bodysuit, PJs, a dress, and few mom-sized options.
You might recognize this romper style as the same one modeled by Jessica Simpson’s daughter Birdie last June. In fact Posh Peanut is that rare kids’ clothing brand that’s loved
by celebrities (Kylie Jenner, Charlize Theron, Amber Rose, and Eva Longoria’s kids also sport their clothing) but is also actually affordable to some of us Normals. This romper is $36 at the moment.
We have no idea how quickly this number will sell out now after Kaavia’s endorsement, but you can at least use her as your fashion inspiration for your next onesie purchase. And for the love of all things parenting-related, please refrain from making some kind of snide comment about Gabrielle Union allowing her daughter to use her Airpods.
