Co-parenting doesn’t have to be difficult, especially when both parents are supportive of one another. At least, that’s the case for Fergie and Josh Duhamel, who married in 2009, separated in 2017, finished filing for divorce in 2019, and are parenting son Axl, 8.
After Josh Duhamel got engaged to Audra Mari, whom he’s been dating since 2019, ex-wife Fergie commented “Congrats” with several heart emojis. It appears the singer is genuinely happy for the actor’s engagement, as a source exclusively told Hollywood Life on Monday that Fergie loves “he has found someone that makes him happy” and believes it will “improve their co-parenting relationship.”
They had “such a deep and long relationship,” the source said about Fergie and Duhamel. Despite the heartbreak years ago, “that they have found being a part of each other’s life is still very important, and they only want the best for each other.”
Fergie and Duhamel reportedly still enjoy raising Axl together. “They are both in a place when their co-parenting relationship is so amazing,” the insider said.
The source added, Fergie is “all about Josh taking this new journey to get engaged and eventually be married again. She loves that he has found someone that makes him happy because that is only going to improve their co-parenting relationship when everyone is happy.”
“She would only expect the same from him if the shoe was on the other foot,” the source added. “It is really nice to see this too from mutual friends because now when it comes to them, it is all about Axl’s wellbeing, and that is what is being done by being so cordial to each other. You can tell they have figured it out for the greater good.”
It’s so refreshing to see celebrity exes supporting each other and coming together for the sake of their kid. Congratulations to Duhamel and Mari, and best of luck to Fergie and Duhamel on your continued co-parenting journey! Axl is one lucky kid.
