Standing her ground! Catelynn Lowell defended herself after her 4-year-old daughter, Novalee, had a meltdown when she left her at home to go to the spa.
“Nova was FINE two minutes after I left!” the Teen Mom OG star, 27, tweeted of the Monday, June 24, episode of the MTV show. “That was my first time by myself in MONTHS!!! And it was my birthday! If you are a parent you know that sometimes u need me time!”
Her husband, Tyler Baltierra, also took to Twitter to address their daughter’s temper tantrum. “Wait…so a kid throws a fit nowadays & we’re calling it ‘abandonment anxiety issues’!?” the reality star, also 27, tweeted. “I must have not received that memo, but thank you to all of the social media child therapists for this new diagnosis. Hahaha!”
This came after Lowell was bashed for her spa day decision. “I’m so tired of Catelynn constantly talking about she needs to rest, take it easy so she won’t stress herself out and get postpartum depression again,” one user wrote. “You do nothing but take it easy! She uses her past depression as an excuse for everything! Enough!” Another added, “Aww Nova thinks she not coming back because she leaves so many times.”
In the same episode, the Conquering Chaos author got Nova a new pony to help ease her transition to big sisterhood, giving them something special to bond over.
Us Weekly broke the news in February that the Michigan natives had welcomed their newborn, Vaeda. Two months later, Lowell told Us exclusively that they planned to add another baby to their brood.
“We would love to have a boy one day,” she told Us at the time. “If we’re meant to just have girls, I guess that’s what we were meant to have! I’m not going to have like, six, or seven kids – no thank you. I feel like I’m already going gray with two!”
She added, “By the time we’re 30, we’re done. [Baltierra’s] getting fixed, that’s it. I already told him. I said, ‘I carried all three of your kids and birthed them and pushed them out of me, you’re getting snipped, sorry!’ And he’s OK with that! He’s like, ‘Yeah you’re right, you did carry all my kids and have to go through labor, so [I’ve] got no choice!’”
