Cardi B: How I’ll Teach Kulture to Be Confident

Classmates wanted to be friends with Cardi B when the rapper was growing up in the Bronx.

“I feel like I always, since I was in school, people used to love me, people used to gravitate to me,” Cardi, 26, told Us Weekly and other reporters at the Cardi B x Fashion Nova launch event in Hollywood on Wednesday, November 14. “I used to be like, ‘Why?’ I don’t feel like I’m the prettiest girl in the room. I don’t feel like I look any type of special, but it’s just, I guess, my personality, the way I walk in and I smile, the way I talk.”

The Grammy nominee explained that her confidence comes from within herself. It’s a lesson she will teach Kulture, the 4-month-old baby girl she shares with husband Offset.

“I want my daughter to come in the room, and I want her to feel like she’s that woman,” Cardi revealed.

The Love and Hip Hop: New York alum can’t get enough of her little girl. “Cardi is obsessed with her. When she’s traveling, she FaceTimes and gets constant updates,” a source told Us in September. “Cardi loves working, but she also wishes she could spend every second with Kulture. She misses Kulture like crazy when she’s traveling.”

Cardi and the Migos rapper, 26, have not shown Kulture’s face to the world yet. “I just want to protect her,” the former reality star revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in October. “I’m not ready yet.”

Meanwhile, Cardi’s only regret is not having babies sooner. “I am enjoying it. It’s the best. It’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, I should have had you when I was a teenager,’” she quipped on Kimmel. “I do feel like I need a rest, but oh my God, like, the happiness that my baby brung me, it’s like, ‘I could do this over and over again!’”
