Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne’s kids Rocco, 2, and Rafa, 10 months, are creatures of habit.
“They share a room. Six o’clock in the morning, one of them starts singing, the other ones starts screaming, but it’s to each other,” the Boardwalk Empire actor told Us Weekly at Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day in New York City on Tuesday, September 11. While the boys communicate in their own special language, 48-year-old Cannavale heads to the kitchen.
“I’ve got a good 45 minutes to get breakfast ready, read one section of the newspaper and have a coffee,” the Will & Grace alum revealed. “It’s a good little routine. I dig it. It’s really nice.” Aside from those 45 minutes with his coffee, “it’s pretty nonstop,” he added.
Cannavale attended Tuesday’s event in support of the 52nd Street Project, a non-profit children’s theater program in New York City. “It keeps kids out of trouble, and quite a few of them have gone into the arts,” the star told Us. The Emmy winner has even appeared in a few productions. “They write plays and then they cast real actors to be in them,” he explained. “So it’ll be like me and Eddie Falco in a show that an 11-year-old has written.”
According to the modest dad, the children couldn’t care less that he’s famous. “They’re New Yorkers,” quipped Cannavale. “They don’t get easily impressed!”
Cannavale and the Australian Peter Rabbit actress, 39, have been together since 2012. He shares son Jake Cannavale, 23, with ex-wife Jenny Lumet.
