Grace Irwin is going on an adventure — or she’s just walking around her backyard. It’s hard to tell when you live on an actual zoo, surrounded by so much beauty and natural wonders! Bindi Irwin shared a new picture of her 2-year-old daughter, who she shares with husband Chandler Powell, and she definitely looks determined as she walks on a trail outside with an adorably tiny elephant toy gripped in one hand.
“Exploring, 💚” the wildlife conservationist captioned the sweet photo on Instagram. Grace is wearing a fuzzy pink jacket and purple pants (don’t forget: it’s winter in Australia!) as she walks through a canopy of trees.

The sun is shining through the leaves, making Grace look like a little angel as she makes her way down the trail. In her right hand, she holds a little green elephant toy. She’s holding the toy out in front of her, almost as if she’s showing her elephant the world around her, and our hearts can’t take the cuteness.

Elephant Sounds
Last October, the Irwin family (including Bindi’s mom Terri Irwin and her brother Robert Irwin) went on a family getaway to Queensland. While there, Grace carried around an animal print block and got to see lots of animals. But at the end, she made the cutest elephant noises, proving that this is one of her favorite animals at the zoo.
In another video, Grace is seen trying to surprise elephant planters set up at the zoo. “Sneaking up on elephants with Grace Warrior @australiazoo. 💗,” Bindi captioned the adorable video. Such a cutie!

Bindi’s Hope for Grace
In an interview with HELLO Magazine in April 2023, Irwin shared her hope for Grace’s future.
“My hope is that Grace has empathy for all species, and a genuine appreciation for our Earth,” she said. “I have watched her develop a gentleness towards animals. It makes my heart happy seeing her admire an ant, gently pat a koala or try to feed a tiny tortoise with her spoon. She’s such a strong girl with a real softness towards the natural world.”
The Crikey! It’s the Irwins star also opened up about how much Grace loves animals. “Grace already loves animals so much that it’s easy to share the wonder of animals together,” Irwin said. “I’m excited knowing that as she gets older we will be able to impart little gems of information about each animal she meets.”
