The Kar-Bar fam (can we make that name a thing?!) is patiently awaiting the arrival of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s son. The couple had a serious scare earlier this month when Kardashian had to have an “urgent fetal surgery.”
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our babies [sic] life,” she wrote in an emotional post on Instagram. “I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from [his Blink-182] tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this … I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
Thankfully, little baby Barker and his mama — who is also mom to Mason 13, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 8, who she shares with ex Scott Disick — seem to be doing much better. Especially given her latest leather bumpdate. “Pregnancy is so empowering,” the Lemme founder captioned a post on Instagram.
We have to imagine everyone in the Kar-Bar family — including Barker’s kids Atiana De La Hoya, 24, Landon, 19, and Alabama, 17, who he shares with ex Shanna Moakler — is so happy that Kardashian is recovering well. Alabama recently shared her feelings about having a new little sibling with E! News.
“I just think having another family member is always awesome,” she said. “Getting to know a new person, it’s gonna be so fun and so exciting!”
It makes us so happy to hear that the teen is so excited about her blended family growing. In July, a source told Us Weekly that Kardashian and Barker are “having their kids contribute to the list” of potential baby names. Just a reminder, that’s six kids between the ages of 8 and 24! That’s a lot of opinions, and the family was already struggling to come to a decision.
At the time (and possibly still), Barker wanted to name the baby “Rocky 13.” “Rocky George played guitar for Suicidal Tendencies, and 13 is just the greatest number of all time,” he said. “And Rocky, the greatest boxing movie of all time.”
Alabama is not as excited about that name as she is for the baby’s arrival. “That’s so bad!” she told her dad. But we know that even if Kardashian and Barker land on that “so bad” moniker, Alabama will love her brother all the same.
These blended celebrity families make it look easy!
