While parents across the country struggle to figure out WTF Google Classrooms is, Kristen Bell seems to have turned her homeschooling up a notch. According to her recent Instagram post, she’s managed to teach younger daughter Delta advanced biochemistry. Now the 5-year-old has found what the brightest minds in science have yet to discover: a vaccine for COVID-19.
“Well folks, she’s done it,” Bell wrote, sharing a censored image of Delta to cover both her face and her shirtless torso — looks like the homeschool science course didn’t go over proper laboratory protective gear. “Don’t get me wrong, she has more trials to do to assure its efficacy — but my 5 yr old just came into my bedroom with a vial full of colored water and told me, ‘I just made the vaccine for coronavirus!’ ”
The promising young researcher may have been extra motivated to search for this vaccine because her dad, Dax Shepard, had put himself into self-quarantine last week, when he came home from traveling. Or, well, the quarantine may have been Bell’s idea, actually.
“To be cautious, I asked him to stay at a friend’s empty apartment for a bit to make sure he had no symptoms,” she wrote on Instagram.
Bell and the girls made it up to Shepard with a special dance performance outside his window to the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack.
In addition to this science and musical theater curriculum, Bell’s homeschool has also included lessons on social responsibility. When she and Shepard donated $150,000 to No Kid Hungry last week, Lincoln and Delta insisted on adding their allowance — $7.96 — to the fund, too.
She might have her hands full with her daughters at the moment, but if Kristen Bell wants to switch to an online school format and show us how it’s all done, I think we’d sign up!
