Heartbreaking dreams, breakdowns and more major Home and Away spoilers

This week on Home and Away, Mia (Anna Samson) is stuck in her grief and can’t find a way through.

She isn’t ready to accept Dean (Patrick O’Connor) and Ziggy’s (Sophie Dillman) idea to generate financial support and tells them her family isn’t a charity case – then, when Theo (Matt Evans) and Ryder (Lukas Radovich) present the tribute video, she swiftly lashes out and calls them disrespectful and self-indulgent. Stuck in her room, replaying her husband’s voicemail message over and over, is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

Meanwhile, Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) has moved in with Jasmine (Sam Frost) and Irene (Lynne McGranger), but jumping from discussing coffee orders in the Diner to living with Irene as his landlady is proving to be tough for the police officer. His awkwardness increases when he goes to the kitchen during the night in his underwear, only to be caught by Irene. The two women are left wondering if Cash’s behaviour will improve any time soon – when will he loosen up and feel at home?

Elsewhere, Tane (Ethan Browne) has returned to the Bay from New Zealand and finds comfort in Felicity (Jacqui Purvis). Her soothing words give him hope and his feelings for her deepen. However, when he tells her that he sees a future with her, she begins to panic. She isn’t ready for the stuff her boyfriend is envisioning and doesn’t know if she ever will be. How can she break it to him that she isn’t exactly used to commitment?

Here’s what’s coming up for the week beginning Monday 18 April.

Cash and Jasmine provide Mia with hope and relief

Mia is feeling truly alone after the funeral is over and the house has been put back together – as if nothing happened. However, Jasmine reaches out and lets her know she understands how it feels to lose a husband. Mia feels a glimmer of hope – there’s someone who has been in her position. She goes to the police station and enquires about settling Ari’s murder charge. However, Cash has an update which gives her relief – the case has been closed, so they can put it all behind them.

Cash is mortified when Irene catches him in his underwear

Cash is struggling to find his feet after moving in with Jasmine and Irene. At dinner, he is awkward and polite, waiting on the two women and never seeming to truly relax.

The situation gets worse when he goes out in the middle of the night to get some water in his underpants – and runs into Irene. Horrified, he rushes back to the bedroom. The next day, Jasmine and Irene discuss Cash’s strange behaviour. Irene makes it clear she’s not fazed by seeing a man in his jocks – but how can they get Cash to loosen up and feel more at home?

Mackenzie is furious after discovering Logan’s undercover plan

Mackenzie is in shock after finding out that Ari has died, and she is filled with grief for her former lover and good friend. Logan is concerned when he finds out that the pair had a romantic past – is she over her ex boyfriend? Regardless, he worries that she isn’t opening up about her feelings, and recruits a reluctant Ryder to keep tabs on his boss while they work. Later, when Mackenzie catches the pair talking, she quickly figures out what they’re up to – and she isn’t happy…

Justin wonders why Theo won’t open up about Dimitri

Theo has recently tried to give Mia and Chloe a tribute video to Ari, but Mia wasn’t ready to see it and told him his behaviour was self-indulgent and disrespectful. He’s left wallowing in guilt, but Justin gives him some perspective – he had good intentions, but bad timing. He just needs to give Mia space. Sensing they’re getting closer, Justin tries to ask Theo about his father, Dimitri, but Theo immediately deflects – he’s not ready to discuss it. Justin is left wondering what happened between them, and why Theo won’t let him in.

Ari gives Mia loving advice in a heartbreaking dream

Mia is pleased to see Tane and Ethan when they return from New Zealand, but with the house put back in order and everyone back home the hole Ari has left is even more evident. She puts on a brave face, but when she goes into her room she is stuck in a rut. She can’t stop looking through Ari’s clothes where he left them, and she replays Ari’s voicemail message over and over. When she finally sleeps, she dreams of Ari and he gives her some loving advice – she needs to keep her family and friends close to her. His spirit can’t move to its final resting place until he knows she will be okay…

Mia is insulted by Dean and Ziggy’s suggestion of support

Dean has been left shocked after finding out that his friend and former cellmate Ari has passed away. He struggles to understand how it happened so quickly, and as he tries to focus on what he can do help, he notices that the gym has been closed for a while. How can he and Ziggy come up with a way to help the family out financially? Eventually they land on an idea and pitch it to Mia – they want to set up a crowdfunding page so people can make donations online. However, Mia is insulted by the idea – she doesn’t want Ari to become a charity case, or for the family to be seen as such.

Chloe falls apart after trying to return to work

Chloe has been left reeling after losing her father figure, Ari, and it has been especially hard with Tane and Nikau in New Zealand. With just her grieving mother in the house, she has been feeling trapped and lost in her own grief. When the two men return, Nikau suggests that Chloe could think about picking up some shifts at the Diner – the family is strapped for cash after the funeral costs. Chloe asks Irene to be put back on the roster, but when she’s faced with going back to her usual routine, she quickly falls apart. Unable to cope with her work environment, she bails and walks out of the Diner…

Roo is surprised by John’s wise advice about Martha

Alf tells Roo he’s going to Merimbula to spend time with Martha, and invites his daughter to go with him. Roo is left torn – how can she go and see her mother when she has refused the kidney transplant, and she’d essentially be watching her slowly die? Left looking for wise counsel, she ends up with John instead. However, he delivers some surprising wisdom. He says if he were in Martha’s position, he wouldn’t accept an organ from his child if it could result in health problems for them in the future. Roo is taken aback, and left with food for thought…

Felicity is left panicking after Tane’s comments about their future

When Tane returns from New Zealand, he seeks out Felicity and catches her mid-boogie with headphones on in the caravan park. She is elated to see him and the pair have a jubilant reunion. He confides in her about his regrets – he should have spent more time in Ari’s life while he could. Felicity is reassuring, and feeling lifted up by her soothing presence, Tane opens up to her – when he thinks of his future, she is front and centre. However, Felicity is left panicking after her boyfriend’s words of commitment. Her previous love life hasn’t exactly been stable – is she ready to take on serious steps such as marriage and kids?
