Orange and mint is not a flavour combination that many people crave… in fact, the two tastes famously clash.
Which is why you never drink orange juice after brushing your teeth.
However, After Eights think they have cracked the tricky combo, and have created a version of their much-loved chocolates that are both mint and orange flavoured.
The new flavour features the classic dark chocolate coating and peppermint filling, but this time there’s a citrus twist.
Which could make for the perfect refreshing treat after dinner – or you could get flashbacks to a glass of Tropicana mingling with the toothpaste in your mouth.
You will have to try them to decide for yourself.
The After Eights Orange & Mint chocolates are being sold in B&M stores nationwide and they cost £1.99 for a box.
The launch comes just weeks after the news that gin and tonic flavoured After Eights are set to launch in the UK – perfect if your like your chocolates with a slightly boozy edge.
These limited edition chocolates still taste of mint, but the fondant is also G&T-flavoured, then you have the usual dark chocolate covering.
The mints don’t contain alcohol, and won’t get you tipsy. Instead, they just have the flavour of a G&T, so we’re imagining juniper and citrus notes.
So, as the festive period creeps closer, you’ll have an eclectic selection of Christmassy chocolates to choose from.
Why be basic when you go for one of these positively out-there flavours? But maybe warn Aunty Edith before she gets the shock of her life.
