The alerts have been issued by the Food Standard Agency as consumers are warned of the potential risks of using these products.

This week, products across Tesco stores are being withdrawn with customers urged to return affected items.

Britain’s biggest grocer – and one of its biggest rivals, Asda – have withdrawn products from shelves with refunds being offered to consumers.

The FSA runs product recalls over health, safety, and hygiene risk fears, with B&M, a bargain retailer, also affected.

Polish Specialities Ltd is recalling Knoppers Wafers – sold at stores including Asda and B&M – because they contain peanuts that are not mentioned on the label.

Tesco – Cow & Gate baby food

Supermarket chain Tesco is urgently recalling a range of baby food because of a tampering alert.

The Food Standards Agency has issued an urgent product recall on Cow & Gate baby food items purchased from Tesco stores amid fears jars may have been tampered with.

The FSA said Cow & Gate and Tesco are voluntarily recalling 15 varieties of 7+ month Cow & Gate baby food jars (200g) sold by Tesco stores “as a precautionary measure”.

There are concerns that some of the jars may have been subject to tampering. However, no other Cow & Gate, Tesco or other branded baby products are affected.

The products which have been recalled are listed below:

Advice issued by the FSA reads: “Please do not feed any Cow & Gate 7+ month baby food jars 200g purchased from Tesco to your baby. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

“Cow & Gate and Tesco apologise to parents and carers for any inconvenience caused by this recall.”
