In a confusing move for all those that have good taste, Celebrations are offering up a new tub that contains nothing but Bounty bars.
Yes, we all know that Bounty is objectively the worst chocolate bar to exist – and opting for one over, let’s say, a Malteaser Teaser, is surely the biggest red flag of all.
But now, Mars, who make Celebrations, have launched the ‘Bounty Centrepiece’ – doing away with all the legitimately nice picks, and leaving only the coconut filled crimes-against-chocolate.
Bounty has long since sparked debate across the nation. Last year, a survey found that 39% of Brits would support having Bounty bars scrapped from Celebrations.
The poll of 2,000 people revealed that 18% would feel irritated if they opened a Celebrations tub to find only Bounty’s were left, and 58% said this would lead to a family argument.
In response to these perfectly understandable stats, Mars offered up No Bounty tubs – exactly as you’d expect, tubs of Celebrations with not a single Bounty lurking inside.
But, that same poll also revealed that a shocking 18% of people said the Bounty was their favourite (are you okay, hun?) and a further 20% confessed that while they love the sweet treat, they keep the secret to themselves. We’d be embarrassed too.
So now, it seems Mars are repenting for their Bounty hating sins, and have done a U-turn, offering up the Bounty only box.
If you want one of these terrifying tubs, you’ll have to be quick – just 300,000 of them are being stocked in Tesco stores across the UK.
A special celebratory van will also be travelling to selected stores between October 13 and 15.
Kerry Cavanaugh, business unit director at Mars Wrigley UK, said: ‘Last year, Bounty lovers made their voices heard and it’s time we gave something back.
‘We hope the Bounty Centrepiece will help ease the pain we caused when we removed Bounty last year.
‘We’re excited to see how these tubs are received…are you a Bounty lover, or a hater?!’
