Zara Tindall and Princess Anne famously share the same love for all things equestrian, and both have led a noble career in the sport.
The Princess Royal was the first member of the Royal Family to compete in the Olympic Games back in 1976, just a few years before she gave birth to her daughter, Zara.
Now a mother-of-three herself, the 42-year-old has stepped into the shoes of Anne as a famed British equestrian, but she shares more than just impressive skills with her parent.
While competing in the dressage at Burghley Horse Trials earlier today, Zara was the image of her mother while riding her horse, Class Affair.
Photos taken 54 years apart show both Anne and her daughter in white collar dressage blouses, navy jackets, white jodhpurs and black riding boots.

Their classical style isn’t the only similarity between the two either. Both were captured with a focused expression on their faces while competing at their respective horse trials.
The image of Princess Anne shows her competing at the Royal Windsor Horse Trials in Berkshire on April 30, 1969, aged just 18.
While the snapshot of Zara taken today shows her at a much older age, the mother-and-daughter duo are hard to distinguish by their similar side profile.

The show garment worn by Zara today is known as the Animo Lageo Tailcoat in Navy, and is the royal’s go-to for horse riding events.
On the website, the garment description reads: “Its minimal and essential style, Lageo is the competition tailcoat for those who do not give up on the classic and timeless style of Animo. The jacket is ideal for maximum comfort of the rider during the competition.”
Zara also owns the Animo Lud Competition Jacket in Blu Navy, which is more similar to the style donned by Princess Anne back in 1969.
It’s not the first time the mother-daughter duo have been hard to distinguish in photographs. In fact, several images of the pair show a heart-warming resemblance between them.
Both are skilled at dressage, and jumping and often accompany one another to equestrian events alone with other close family members.
Most recently Princess Anne, Mike Tindall and Zara’s three children were pictured showing their support for Zara at the international horse competition.
