Me Wearing the Reformation Liza High Straight Jean
It wasn’t long ago when extremely tapered skinny jeans dominated denim trends, essentially banishing bootcut and straight-leg cuts. But then, what typically happens with fashion trends did indeed happen, and said jeans are back in style. As someone who came of age in the 2000s, I typically associated bootcut jeans with all the times they were layered beneath sequined going-out dresses on red carpets. So, you could say I was skeptical. Reformation changed my mind.
The trendy, sustainable brand launched a denim range in 2017, and I’d say the majority of the styles have a slight kick at the hem. I had already bought a pair of skinny jeans from Reformation, which I liked, so when I later found myself searching for a more classic dark-wash jean to wear to work, I took a chance on the Liza High Straight Jean.
As you may have already guessed based on the photo of me wearing the jeans in the photo above, I ended up being a big fan. The fit is flattering and true to size, the fabric is comfortable without stretching out too easily, and the straight hem really elongates my legs, particularly when paired with heels or ankle boots. I’m a bootcut convert!
Unfortunately for me, I paid full price, but the good news for you is that the Liza jean is currently on sale as part of Reformation’s end-of-Summer sale. Depending on the wash, the jean is currently available for nearly half of the original price. (For example, the exact pair I have — in the Hayes wash — is down from $118 and now priced at $77.) Take a closer look ahead.
