WHEN it comes to picking a baby name, most parents look to their surroundings for inspiration – whether that's a particular place, time of year or perhaps even a favourite book.
But considering how 2020 has felt like giant disaster movie, it's hardly surprising that the pandemic is predicted to have an enormous impact on baby name trends next year.
OnBuy has put together a list of the most searched lockdown-inspired baby names and determined their "popularity potential" for 2021, Ok! reports.
The online marketplace's research shows that searches for "coronavirus baby names" shot up by 140 per cent over the past 10 months.
According to their study, Corazon will be the most popular pandemic-inspired name for 2021 and searched rose by over 1000 per cent – closely followed by Boris after the Prime Minister.
What's more, the list also shows that our lockdown television viewing habits will also influence baby name trends in 2021.

- Boris
- Maura
- Joe
- Piers
- Beck
- Kourtney
- Otis
Both Carole and Joe (inspired by Netflix's Tiger King) make an appearance in the Top 10 along with Marty – which is the main character's name in Ozark.
Despite starring in last year's Love Island, Maura Higgins' name comes in fifth place – while Piers (after the Good Morning Britain host) is expected to be the seventh most popular "coronavirus-inspired" name.
