Photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis has teamed with Converse to reimagine the new Chuck Taylor CX. An ode to her family, Jarvis’s Chuck Taylor uses a floral print that’s cropped from a photo she took of her father, and aims to encapsulate his vibrant personal style. It’s also the Chuck Taylor CX’s first collaborative iteration since it debuted in March.
This floral print uses pink, black and white, and covers the vast majority of the CX’s stretch canvas upper. A classic All-Star badge appears on the lateral collar, and the tongue is done up in stark white for contrast. Jarvis’s name appears on the inner tongue for a PE-style pop of flair. On the lower half, toe caps and midsoles are made up of translucent rubber for an interesting layered detail, with outsoles featuring a potent pink. Two sets of laces — plain white and floral — allow for customization, and a special box that replicates the shoe’s floral print rounds off the look.
The Shaniqwa Jarvis x Converse Chuck Taylor CX is set to release on the Converse webstore come August 13. The MSRP is set at an even $100 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of collaborative footwear, the Sean Wotherspoon x atmos x ASICS GEL-LYTE III is set for a global release after a Japan-exclusive drop in June.
