There are plenty of great ones out there – and they'll sound just as cute in the middle of summer.

38% want to go for something more modern, while 43% would consider giving their son or daughter a Christmas-themed name.

For the second year running, Ivy and Holly are the festive favourites for girls.

But it's not just Christmassy monikers that parents-to-be are loving.

The poll found that royal names have influenced this season's choices, with Charlotte, Meghan, Eugenie, William, Harry and George all making the cut.

Faye Mingo – Marketing Director at Emma's Diary – told the Daily Star: "Interestingly for girls names, Ivy and Holly remain ever-popular at this time of year, while the draw of more traditional names is growing too.

"Choosing a name for your baby takes a lot of thought and planning and as our poll shows, many of us are very much influenced by our own family name traditions too."
