Meghan Markle was refused entry into a Canadian restaurant due to their security needs
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly been refused a table at a posh Canadian restaurant as a result of their security demands.
It’s been claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to eat out at the swanky waterfront restaurant Deep Cove Chalet, in the popular Horth Hill area of British Colombia.
But the owner says she refused to give them a table as a result of their security demands – but didn't disclose exactly what those were.
Bev Koffel said she met with the couple's security team last week but her husband Pierre – who is the head chef and co-owner – ultimately turned down their reservation because their open-plan restaurant weren't compatible with the couple's security needs.
Prince Harry has been revealed as the inspiration for kids’ names in Gavin & Stacey Christmas special
The Gavin & Stacey special which aired over Christmas featured a subtle reference to the royal family.
Ruth Jones, who co-wrote the sitcom and stars as Nessa, has
revealed how the Christmas Day episode paid tribute to Meghan Markle, Prince
Harry and Kate
Middleton.
The most recent episode featured Gavin
and Stacey’s three children Harri, Meghan and Caitlin, which was inspired
by one of the character’s love of royals.
Ruth, 53, explained: “It was a little nod to Pam's love of
the royal family, we wanted it to be transferred through Gavin into their name
choices.
"So it is a little nod to the royal family."

Last month, the Duchess of Cambridge spent
two days working
alongside midwives in Kingston Hospital's Maternity Unit – and
even visited
a new mum at home as part of her secret work experience.

Kate Middleton praised the "amazing work" of midwives in a letter she wrote, to celebrate 2020's Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
She said: “You are there for women at their most vulnerable;
you witness strength, pain and unimaginable joy on a daily basis.
“Your work often goes on behind the scenes, and away from
the spotlight.”
The Queen sits kids in a different room at her pre-Christmas lunch, reveals Mike Tindall
Mike Tindall revealed the Queen sits the children in a separate room at her annual pre-Christmas lunch.
The royals descended onto Buckingham Palace last week for the monarch’s traditional festive feast, which she threw before she headed off to Sandringham for the big day.
The former England rugby player, 41, shared an insight into the family affair, revealing there were about 70 people at the lunch.
Speaking with fellow rugby stars James Haskell and host Alex Payne, on podcast JOE UK’s House of Rugby, Mike revealed there were no Christmas crackers on the table.
He said: “This is the other one, the family lunch, there must be about 70 of us there – there are seven tables and then the kiddies have their own little one in a different room.”
