It’s the shoe that transformed single girl Carrie Bradshaw into Mrs. Big.
In the first “Sex and the City” movie, Carrie stepped into her satin “something blue” pumps — also known as the Manolo Blahnik “Hangisi” — and agreed to marry her dashing on-again-off-again mate.
Ten years later, Blahnik, whose name is synonymous with covetable shoes, has revealed a new 12-piece capsule collection, inspired by Carrie’s unforgettable Cinderella moment.
The original style from the film is a $995 cornflower-blue pump with a needle-thin heel and a crystal-encrusted square buckle.
The updated versions, a mix of heels and flats that range in price from $985 to $1,265, all keep the jewel but add in new patterns and designs that refer to the iconic love affair between Carrie and Big.
There’s the “Hangisi Decade” shoe, which is all blue and has the words “a decade of love” scrawled on the side. The geometric “Cosmo” comes in blue, black and pink: a reference to the “Sex and the City” foursome’s favorite cocktail.
Two others — the white satin “NYC” that “pays homage to the show’s fifth main character” and a black-and-white option with the word “love” — round out the collection. The shoes will be available to buy Nov. 15 at Manolo Blahnik stores, as well as Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Barney’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.
