Wow, how six months can fly by, especially in the rarefied, photograph-their-every-waking-moment world of the Royal Family.
On Tuesday, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, returned to official duties (weddings, parties and anything are, apparently, not officially "official"), visiting a London school and something called a "wildlife garden" (how very Maurice Sendak).
No bathrobe or active wear for Kate’s first day back from mat leave.
But every mother checking out Kate's outfit must surely be thinking, "Gee I wish I could look that good on the school run every morning."
Another week, another Duchess closes a car door.
Picture the average new mother's first day back at work after a period of maternity leave: the months-long practised "back-to-work" routine for baby goes out the window when she vomits all over your new Cue frock; you don't have time to change because your "re-orientation" training starts at 9 and, thanks to flexible working arrangements, you may not be able to complete it again until March if you miss it; baby safe with carer, you get to the station, only to realise you have worn mismatched shoes and still have remnants of baby sick on the lapel of your coat, which you bought two years ago and haven't replaced because who has time to shop?
But not Kate, who visited the Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden at Paddington Recreation Ground in a perfectly executed tone-on-tone khaki outfit that would make Kim Kardashian proud.
Her outfit included Zara biker jeans, a khaki hoodie jacket and Penelope Chilvers boots that Kate has kept on rotation for 14 years. So she does have something in common with the average mum, after all.
In some photos from the event, Kate appears to be helping close the car door, which, as we all learned last week when her sister-in-law Meghan tried to do the same, is apparently a royal no-no.
It since turns out that closing a car door is not an "official" breach of royal protocol.
It was the Duchess' first official – and solo – engagement since the birth of Prince Louis, her third child, on April 23.
Since then, the public has seen her at only a handful of events, including the wedding of her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, to Meghan Markle on May 19, and Prince Louis' christening.
For fashion watchers waiting to see what Kate has planned next, the hero of re-wearing outfits has her next official gig on October 10, at an event to promote World Mental Health Day.
