I cleared Tesco shelves of 35 rolls of reduced wrapping paper…people call me greedy but I’m all set for Christmas 2023 | The Sun

WITH the January sales in full swing, many bargain hunters have taken to social media to show off their brilliant buys.

And one woman, Claire Austin, was thrilled with her cheap Tesco find.

So much so, that she cleared the shelf and even took home the display boxes.

Posting on Facebook’s bargain hunter private group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, which has 2.1million members, on January 4th, Claire revealed that she managed to get her hands on a whopping 35 rolls of wrapping paper.

Not only was the wrapping paper massively reduced, but she confirmed that thanks to her mega haul, she is now all set for Christmas 2023.

Claire posted a picture of her new cut-price wrapping paper, as she said: “Thankyou Tesco's, that's all my paper ready for next Christmas, 35p a roll.”

Claire was lucky enough to pick up 17 rolls of tartan wrapping paper and 18 rolls of sparkly reindeer paper.

With a total of 35 rolls of paper, Claire was thrilled with her purchase, but many Facebook users were left in shock.

Her post has quickly racked up a whopping 2,000 likes and 670 comments in just two days and while some thought it was great that Claire got herself a bargain, others labelled her greedy for buying so many.

One user noted: “Goddd… could have left some for other people.”

A second agreed: “No one bother going, there's none left.”

Whilst another posted: “Could have left some for others that maybe can't afford full price”.

Users were stunned at how many rolls Claire brought and many questioned her on why she needed so many.

One person said: “Blimey, how many presents do you buy? I only used 2 rolls this year.”

Another added: “How many gifts do you wrap? I’d lose the plot if I did enough to get through that lot.”

A third commented: “Wow you wrap a lot of pressies.”

Claire then confirmed: “We have 9 children and 6 grandchildren plus other family members.”

She also explained: “I took what I needed for me and my family, there was plenty left.”

However, many other users revealed that they used this wrapping paper to wrap up their Christmas 2022 gifts, but weren’t very impressed.

One woman claimed: “Worst wrapping paper ever.”

Whilst someone else noted: “It's rubbish paper. Should have given it away for free.”

Another user agreed: “Great bargain! But I would rather not wrap than use this ever again. Never lost my s**t so much with a roll of b****y wrapping paper. To the point I folded it in half and threw it downstairs to teach it a lesson, nearly bought me to tears it did lol.”

Meanwhile, one Facebook user joked: “Love that you got the boxes as well” to which Claire replied “I couldn’t be bothered to carry them.”
