IT is a truth universally acknowledged that trying to get your partner to help out around the house can be an absolute chore in itself.
But while most of us prefer to nag our other halves to the point where they can't put off doing the dishes any longer, one couple have taken a rather more, erm, inventive approach.
Sharing an image of their "reward" sticker chart on Reddit, an anonymous American woman revealed how she thanks her husband for helping out around the house with packs of beer and sex acts. Yes, you read that correctly.
Similar to a sticker chart you'd give to a child to earn pocket money, this couple's version features seven tasks the mum is hoping to offload on her husband – including packing their children's lunch boxes, vacuuming their car seats or clearing up their vomit.
Her husband must complete each tedious task six times – and rack up six Disney princess stickers – to reap his personalised rewards.
For instance, if he does the washing up on six occasions then his wife will buy him a 12-pack of beer – that's TWO beers for every time he does the dishes.
Alternatively, if he regularly vacuums the children's car seats then he doesn't have to attend their child's "annoying" friend's birthday party.
What's more, the husband will earn himself a "naked hula dance" if he changes six "blowout" nappies.
Or if he puts the toilet seat down after using it – you know, something most guys should do WITHOUT asking – then his wife promises there will be "no nagging for a week".
However, the chart jumps to all new extremes when the wife says she'll reward her partner with oral sex if he cleans up the children's vomit.
Unsurprisingly, the sticker chart has caused quite a stir online – with some labelling the image "depressing".
Sharing a photo of the chart, Twitter user @ChrisTweetsLLC raged: "I had to f***ing see this now you do too."
One replied: "Lovely to have explain to the kids what a BJ means and it's the only reason daddy cares about them."
Another added :"You don't get a prize for taking care of your own kids. Does mom get a chart? What are her prizes?"
Meanwhile, a third spotted a loophole in the couple's system and pointed out how you could "do none except pack lunches for a week" and then "use 'get out of the dog house free' card when partner flips".
But this isn't the first time a cheeky husband has been blasted online for helping out around the house for his own benefit.
In July, mummy blogger Bri Dietz, from San Diego, posted a photo of her husband Bobby on Instagram holding up a sign describing what they refer to as "choreplay".
The controversial sign read: "Helping out with housework so you can get lucky is called choreplay."
The mum-of-two – who is pregnant with her third child – is pictured kissing her husband on the cheek and claims there is "nothing hotter" than a man who helps out around the house.
However, Bri's 76,000 followers accused the influencer of "infantalising men" with the post while also "implying that the home is a woman's job."
