For some, cosy nights and festive cheer can’t come soon enough, while others long for summer and barbecues.
But it seems a study has officially pinned down exactly what it is people love about the festive season.
It seems self-indulgence is high on the list, with lie-ins, eating hearty meals and cosying up next to a roaring fire all ranking highly.
As did it being dark enough to wear your pjs as soon as you get home from work, going Christmas shopping, having movie nights and drinking festive-themed drinks.
The study, carried out by Love Fresh Berries, asked nearly 2,000 adults about what they loved and loathed about the season.

18. Seeing Christmassy animals like robins and reindeer
19. Feeling like it's acceptable to wear pyjamas as soon as you get home from work – because its dark

They revealed a whopping three in 10 Brits hated the cold snap, with things such as defrosting the car and waking up in the dark among their pet peeves.
Some 22 per cent got annoyed over how quickly Christmas decorations went up, and a quarter feel less productive at work in winter.
Turning to comfort food was also an issue, with 85 per cent opting for unhealthy foods, and 52 per cent indulging in a warming drink to pick them up.

10. Getting out of the shower is worse than getting out of bed
11. Your skin is always dry
12. Overindulgence and putting on weight
13. Christmas music, again and again
14. Never know what clothes and footwear to have on, as the weather is so changeable
15. Spending all your money on other people and constantly feeling strapped for cash
16. Over decorated neighbours' houses17. Missing summer foods
18. Feeling alone
19. Having to put up with annoying family members
20. The competitive Christmas present revealing on social media
Overall, some 70 per cent of people blamed the dark and the cold for their low mood.
Sophie Medlin, registered Dietitian and Love Fresh Berries spokeswoman, said: “Most people find that when it is cold and dark outside, they are more likely to reach for foods that offer easy energy and feel comforting.
“This can mean that we consume less vitamins which can make us more vulnerable to bugs like cold and flu.”
